Natsura Trunk Decoration
The Trunk Decoration is a specialized version of Surface Decoration optimized for main stems and trunks.
- Root Blending: Handles the transition from trunk to ground (flaring).
- Cap Handling: Options for closing the cut ends of the mesh.
- Enhanced UVs: Better controls for seamless bark textures on thick geometry.
== Concept ==
=== Hero Geometry ===
While standard Surface Decoration is fast and good for branches, Trunk Decoration offers the extra controls needed for the "hero" parts of the tree -- the trunk and roots -- where texture fidelity and silhouette are most critical.
Inputs
Graph: The growth graph.
Parameters
Flare
Width : How much the base widens. Controls the radial expansion at the base of the trunk for a natural root flare appearance.
Height : How far up the trunk the flare extends. Defines the vertical range over which the base widening is applied.
Caps
Top/Bottom : Cap style for the cut ends of the mesh: Open, Flat, or Rounded. Controls whether the top and bottom of the trunk mesh are closed.

== Workflow ==
- Connect Trunk Decoration to your main Trunk Grow node's Decoration socket.
- Use standard Surface Decoration for the smaller branches.
- Adjust Flare Width and Height to achieve a natural root spread at the base.
@notes
- Consumes:
width,P,orientattributes from the skeleton. - Root flaring is critical for grounding the tree in the scene and creating a convincing silhouette.
- For branches and smaller stems, the general-purpose Surface Decoration is more appropriate.
