Direction Effector
Outputs a constant directional vector as an effector that growth nodes can read.
Experimental. The effector framework continues to expand. Parameters and behaviour may change.
The Direction Effector writes a single user-specified direction vector as a per-point effector attribute on the growing skeleton. Where the Gravity Effector is locked to the world up-vector and drives the gravitropic response specifically, the Direction Effector takes an arbitrary constant direction: a custom directional bias such as a prevailing-wind direction, or any constant tropic response that isn't gravity.
Parameters
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The effector instance name. Defaults to the node name. |
| Direction | The direction vector written to every point. Default (1, 0, 0). Edit in the parameter UI or by viewport handle when the effector is selected. |
Notes
- It is not a light effector. Light response (phototropism) comes from plugging an environment into the Simulate, not from this node.
